Expert Gorkhiyan: Indonesia's market will open up new opportunities for Russia

The Indonesian market promises new prospects for Russian exporters due to Indonesia's integration into the BRICS group. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Indonesian office representation of the real estate agency "Floors" Olga Gorkhiyan in her comment provided to " <url>". The expert noted that the official accession of the Republic of Indonesia to the BRICS will have a positive impact on Russian business.

It is expected that the Russian market in the coming years will be enriched with a variety of goods and services from Indonesia, including food, clothing and electronics. In addition, there is a potential to increase the investment flow between the two countries. Gorkhian stressed that both countries expect development in the field of creating security tools and manufacturing advanced technologies, as Indonesia is now at the forefront of profitability of real estate investments.

Russia can also contribute by providing assistance in the development of Indonesia's banking infrastructure, including the organization of fast money transfers, mortgage lending and the development of high-tech platforms for real estate transactions. According to Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, the volume of bilateral trade between Russia and Indonesia will reach about four billion dollars by the end of 2023. Manturov called for joining efforts to expand and diversify trade and strengthen its sustainability.

Indonesia became a full member of the BRICS in early January 2025. According to the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesia supports the reforms of international governing institutions and promotes cooperation in the Southeast Asian region. Indonesian diplomats announced their intention to join the group after the summit in Kazan.
