Olga Gorkhiyan, head of the Indonesian division of the Floors real estate agency, believes that the Indonesian market will open up new opportunities for exporters from Russia. According to the expert, the official accession of the Republic of Indonesia to the BRICS will have a positive impact on the Russians.
"Indonesia is a huge market with growing consumer demand. This opens up new opportunities for Russian exporters, especially in sectors such as energy, mechanical engineering, agriculture and the chemical industry," she explained.

The most promising are the energy sector, as well as mutual trade. In the near future, a variety of goods and services may grow in Russia, including food, clothing, and electronics supplied from Indonesia.

In addition, there is potential for increasing the investment flow: "I see mutual development in terms of creating tools for security and high-tech production. For example, today Indonesia is one of the world's leading countries in the field of high-yield real estate investments.

I assume that in the coming years, various tools and platforms will begin to appear for the security and ease of investment of both individuals and legal entities," Gorkhiyan stressed. Russia can help Indonesia with building a banking infrastructure: organizing fast money transfers, mortgage lending and the introduction of high-tech platforms for real estate transactions.

As noted by First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov, the trade turnover between Russia and Indonesia amounted to about four billion dollars by the end of 2023. Now the two countries need to join forces to increase and diversify trade and increase its sustainability, he stressed.

Indonesia became a full member of the BRICS in early January 2025. The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) noted that the republic supports the reform of global governance institutions and makes a positive contribution to deepening cooperation in Southeast Asian countries.

The diplomats of the country announced their intention to join the association following the results of the summit in Kazan.
